Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub of the American is an actor comedian, activist, and actress. Her parents were Jewish parents in the Soviet Union and started her career as a child actress when she immigrated to the United States. In AT&T television commercials she played the character of Lily Adams (saleswoman) from 2013 through 2016 and the year 2020. Her commercial appearances were not her only activity she appeared in. She was also a part of the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She also starred in an ongoing role as a character on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016)-2017. Vayntrub has also voiced Squirrel Girl on the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after being chosen to voice Squirrel Girl in the unaired television pilot of New Warriors. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. At the age of two she emigrated together with her parents to the U.S. to escape antisemitism. She settled in West Hollywood. Due to the family's financial problems the actress began appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials as a five-year-old. Vayntrub went to Beverly Hills High School briefly and then quit in her sophomore year. She later obtained an GED and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at University of California, San Diego. She was introduced to improv comedy through the Upright Citizens Brigade.
